Main features
Some of what Model Colors does for your paint collection and your builds.
A huge color database
Over 50,000 colors from more than 80 manufacturers — major ranges like Vallejo, Tamiya, Games Workshop / Citadel, Revell, Testors, Army Painter, AK Interactive, Humbrol, Scale75, Reaper, Ammo, Hataka, and MIG Productions, plus dozens of independent brands.
Stash and shopping list tracking
Mark the paints you own and the ones you still need to buy. Whatever range a build calls for, you can see at a glance what's already on your shelf. If you need to buy some new paint just add it to your shopping list so that you don't forget to buy something when you next time visit your local hobby shop or do an online order.
Color matching across ranges
Compare colors using the FS, RAL, and RLM standards and CIE deltaE 2000 color difference to find the closest equivalent paint in another brand, ranked by how close each match is.
Keep track of model projects
Easily keep track of your current, past and future model projects. You can record lots of meta data, what paints you use, store photos and reference documents and much more. Find models based on scale, build state, manufacturer etc.
Color lists and mixes
Colors can be grouped into lists so that you can for instance easily find the ones you need for a custom camouflage scheme or the ones most suitable for a particular Gundam. Mixes allo you to record custom color mixes so that you can replicate them in the future.
Custom groups and keywords
Organize colors into your own groups for different project types, and tag them with your own keywords so you can find them again. You can tag colors, models, color mixes etc with keywords and use them to group things.
Model and build tracking
Keep a record of your models with photos and build notes, and log your progress as you paint.
Scale and mix calculators
A scale calculator lets you easily convert measured lengths from the real world to any scale and vice versa. No pesky match to remember! The mixing calculator helps you figure out how much paint you need to use when creating a particular color mix.
